I heard about the #SwapYourVote effort through a text thread with one of its organizers. So, it was in the back of my mind when I was online, on that toxic cesspool known as facebook, and there was a post making fun of undecided voters, and how anyone could still be undecided at this point. And the first comment was from someone in Michigan who was still trying to decide… but not between Harris & Trump… And I was like “What? Between who, then?” He said: “Between Jill Stein & Cornel West.” So, I snarkily said, “Sooo….Trump has your vote then, eh?” 

I remain worried that the third-party protest vote for Jill Stein will cost Harris enough votes to lose a key state like Michigan. But there’s some good news on this front: a new initiative called SwapYourVote, which aims to make it easy for progressive voters to act strategically:

I came to believe this: that as Americans we simply owe it to the peoples of the world to choose the better — or least worst — of our options for president. Their lives are at stake, often more so than ours.I have also tried to move past a “lesser of two evils” frame. I now see my vote as a strategic choice.
