Swapping in the Wild

Shared by Brian Fairbanks

I heard about the #SwapYourVote effort through a text thread with one of its organizers. So, it was in the back of my mind when I was online, on that toxic cesspool known as facebook, and there was a post making fun of undecided voters, and how anyone could still be undecided at this point. And the first comment was from someone in Michigan who was still trying to decide… but not between Harris & Trump… And I was like “What? Between who, then?” He said: “Between Jill Stein & Cornel West.” So, I snarkily said, “Sooo….Trump has your vote then, eh?”

We went back and forth for a while, until I finally got him to admit that he’d be much more unhappy if Trump was elected.  And then I told him about SwapYourVote.org. “Trust me,” I said. “Here’s what we will do: I’ll vote in my non-swing state for your candidate Cornell West… and you vote for Harris in the great swing-state of Michigan, and we can now both be happy, cool?” And so, I cast my vote for Cornel West a couple days ago here in Louisiana. And I’m checking up with him to make sure he’s casting his vote for Harris in Michigan.

Join me in swapping votes! Let’s defeat Trump/fascism in the swing states and protest-vote the Dems in the safe states.
